LCA Vision

The Lutz Community values its semi-rural character with the "feeling" and "image" of openness for which it has become known.  Residents have a strong connection to their heritage, the community's history, wildlife and surrounding natural systems.  We have a commitment to independence and individuality.  And, we continually strive to preserve these things that together support our lifestyle.

History

Lutz began as a small train stop north of Tampa, circa 1909, and officially became Lutz with the establishment of the post office in 1913.  The Lutz Civic Association, the oldest civic association in Hillsborough County, has a long-standing commitment to the community, initiating the annual Fourth of July Celebration and civic improvements, which include forming the Lutz Volunteer Fire Department in the late 1950's.  To this date, the Lutz Fire Department continues as a volunteer station and the Fourth of July Celebration is bigger and better than ever.
